Gallery · Custom fabricated assemblies

A finished product, not a pile of parts

These custom fabricated assemblies were cut, formed, fitted with hardware, finished, and put together before they left Grand Prairie, Texas. Sheet metal fabrication with assembly is the operation that decides whether your receiving dock gets a product or a project.

One PO instead of four

Send the assembly model rather than the individual part files. We will quote the whole thing with one lead time.

Custom fabricated assemblies: cut, formed, coated, built

Each of these passed through several operations before it shipped. The value is not in any one of them. Instead, it is in nobody having to coordinate between four vendors and hope the tolerances stack.

Why it matters

Sheet metal fabrication with assembly keeps tolerances honest

Split a job across a cutter, a former, a finisher, and an assembler, and every one of them works to print. Even so, the parts still might not go together, because each was in tolerance in a different direction.

When the same Dallas-area shop cuts, forms, installs hardware, and assembles, a fit problem gets found and fixed on the floor rather than argued about across four purchase orders.

Hardware installed

Self-clinching nuts, studs, and standoffs go into the sheet before it leaves, so your line is not installing hardware.

Finish coordinated

Powder coating runs through our vetted finishing partners on the same PO, with masking and hardware sequencing worked out before the parts go out.

One lead time

No waiting on the slowest vendor in a chain, and no freight time between shops added to your schedule.

One place to call

If something is wrong with the assembly, one shop owns it. There is nobody to point at.

Hardware insertion

Self-clinching nuts, pressed in place

Self-clinching hardware (PEM nuts, studs, and standoffs) goes into the sheet under press so it becomes part of the panel rather than something bolted to it. As a result, you get a threaded feature in material far too thin to tap.

The hole has to be right and the press has to be square, or the nut spins out the first time someone torques a fastener into it. Because the same shop cuts the hole and installs the hardware, that stays one shop’s responsibility on every one of our custom fabricated assemblies.

See what comes before

Every assembly on this page started as cutting and forming. Those galleries show the same work earlier in the process, and the assembly services page covers how we quote it.

Send the whole assembly

Include the hardware callouts and the finish spec with your model. Quoting the complete assembly usually comes back cheaper than quoting the parts separately.
