Quote form

Upload your part files for a metal fabrication quote

File upload works best on a desktop browser. On a phone, call (972) 554-0383 or email your print to ast@astmfg.com and we will pick it up from there.

Include these and we quote faster

  • Quantity per part, and whether this is a one-time run or a repeat release
  • Material and thickness
  • Finish, if the part needs one
  • Any tolerance that has to hold
  • A delivery date, if you are working to one

File formats

What the uploader takes

STEP, DXF, DWG, SLDPRT, IGES, and dimensioned PDF move fastest. The uploader also accepts a long list of other native CAD formats, so drop your file in and it will tell you whether it can read it.

Rather talk it through

Call the shop

If the part is unusual, the material is uncommon, or you would rather explain it than type it, call. Someone who runs the equipment will answer the question.

After you submit

How a sheet metal fabrication quote comes together

01

Your file reaches the shop

Your submission lands with the team in Grand Prairie. There is no account to set up and no sales sequence to sit through first.

02

We read the geometry

We check the part against our laser, machining, routing, forming, and band saw capability, and against what the print will actually cost to hold.

03

A number comes back

Price, lead time, and the processes we plan to run. Once you approve it, the job goes on the floor.

Quoting questions

Before you hit submit

Why is there a $500 minimum for new customers?

A first job carries setup, programming, and material handling that a repeat release does not. The $500 floor covers that work, so the number we quote is one we can actually hold. 3D printing orders are exempt.

Is this a sheet metal fabrication quote only, or can I send other work?

Send anything we run. Sheet metal is the most common request, but the same form covers plate, tube, machined parts, routed panels, 3D printed parts, and full assemblies. One upload gets you a metal fabrication quote across every process the part needs.

Can I submit from my phone?

The form loads on a phone, but the file uploader works best in a desktop browser. If you are away from a computer, email the print to ast@astmfg.com or call (972) 554-0383 and we will start the quote from there.

What if I do not have a CAD file?

A dimensioned PDF drawing is enough to quote from. If all you have is a sketch or a sample part, call and describe it. AST supports customers from initial concept design onward, so the drawing does not have to exist yet.

I am not sure which process my part needs. Should I still submit?

Yes. Choosing between laser, punching, routing, and machining is our job, not yours. Send the geometry and the quote will come back with the processes we plan to run on it. If you want the background first, see how our cutting processes compare.

Can you quote a single prototype?

One part, a component, or a complete assembly all go through the same shop and the same quote system. The $500 new-customer minimum still applies to the order.

Do you deliver, and does that change the quote?

AST delivers throughout Dallas and Fort Worth, plus Waco, Austin, Mineral Wells, and Houston. Note it in the project details field and we will price delivery into the job rather than adding it later.

Still deciding whether we are a fit?

Look at what runs in house before you send the print. Cutting, machining, forming, and assembly all happen in one building in Grand Prairie, with finishing coordinated through our partners.
