What is on the floor
The equipment behind the sheets
A 9 kW fiber laser, an Amada EML 2515 AJ punch/laser combination machine, four CNC machining centers, a large-format CNC router, CNC press brakes, and an automatic band saw, plus the support equipment each of them needs. Every machine runs current CNC controls.
Behind that sits CAD/CAM programming and production control software, which is what lets a job move between cutting processes without being requoted or re-fixtured along the way.
Common questions
Questions about AST brochures
Where can I download AST Manufacturing brochures?
Right here. The five sheets above cover laser cutting, punch laser combination machining, CNC machining, press brake, and band saw, and each one downloads as a single-page PDF with no form. For the full list of processes, see our metal fabrication services.
How thick a part can AST laser cut?
The 9 kW fiber laser cuts from 0.002″ up to 1″ in carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum, and up to 3/4″ in copper. Details are on the precision laser cutting page.
Which sheet do I need, laser cutting or punch laser?
If the part is sheet up to 0.250″ with punched holes, formed features like louvers or embossments, or tapped threads, it belongs on the punch laser combination machine. If it is a cut profile in thicker plate, up to 1″, it goes to the 9 kW fiber laser. Send the print either way and the quote will route it to the right machine.
What size parts fit on AST’s CNC machines?
The milling envelope reaches 50″ × 26″ × 25″, the Haas GM-2 gantry takes parts up to 145″ × 87.5″, and the router table takes sheet up to 96″ × 192″. See CNC machining and milling or CNC routing for more.
Is AST Manufacturing ISO certified?
Yes. AST holds ISO 9001:2015 certification through NQA. You can read the certificate, scope, and registration dates on the ISO certification page.
